Overview
We are looking for a Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer to join a leading engineering consultancy in the water sector. This long-term contract position involves delivering high-quality electrical and control system designs for various water treatment projects, including both clean water and wastewater applications. The role will require collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and engagement with clients, ensuring designs meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality electrical, control, and instrumentation design deliverables.
- Create drawing office deliverables including Single Line Diagrams, Cable Schedules, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Ensure designs comply with client specifications and UK legislation.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders on technical matters.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests and site visits as required.
- Verify drawing accuracy according to company procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in clean water and/or wastewater treatment design.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the engineering field, particularly within water or similar infrastructure.
- ONC / OND / HNC / HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Proficiency in CAD software for producing technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and electrical system design requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and teamwork.
- Attention to detail and a focus on safety and risk management in design work.
