Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer Contractor for a 12-month engagement, responsible for providing design expertise in the energy sector. This role will involve collaborating with project teams to develop design deliverables, conduct technical reviews, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The contractor will work alongside various stakeholders to support modifications and new equipment purchases, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and safety of energy operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide design input for project work scopes and estimates.
- Participate in progress and planning meetings to track project development.
- Produce technical design deliverables for existing equipment modifications and new purchases.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore and onshore assets as needed.
- Produce calculations and participate in design reviews to validate designs.
- Check and approve discipline documents, ensuring interdisciplinary compliance where necessary.
- Develop discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Expertise in HV/LV switchgear, electrical drives, and power generation systems.
- Ability to conduct site surveys and produce necessary design calculations.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience in producing detailed electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Strong understanding of change control processes and technical design reviews.
- Capability to ensure compliance with Asset Safety Case and PFEER standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electrical design software.
