Overview
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the water sector to lead the electrical engineering efforts on various projects. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on delivering high-quality designs while providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers. This role involves collaboration with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and innovation throughout project execution.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality electrical design packages in accordance with project requirements and standards.
- Produce detailed electrical calculations, schematics, and layout drawings.
- Lead electrical engineering design activities from concept through to detailed design.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and procedures.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering specifications.
- Manage and coordinate design interfaces with multidisciplinary teams.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical support to junior engineers and CAD technicians.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering design.
- Experience in delivering projects within the water and utilities sector.
- Strong practical experience in Low Voltage (LV) electrical design.
- HND, Degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficient in engineering software and design documentation tools.
- Membership of a recognized engineering institution, working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
