Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team on an initial contract basis. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects, and Backend Engineers to create and enhance modern web applications and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) aimed at millions of users. You will play a crucial part in delivering innovative features and driving best engineering practices in a hybrid working environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern web applications and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) using React and TypeScript.
- Translate business and user requirements into scalable, maintainable frontend solutions.
- Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment.
- Champion frontend performance, accessibility, security, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
- Build quality into solutions through automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate within Agile, cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA), HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS.
- Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first development.
- Experience integrating with REST APIs and/or GraphQL.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and/or Cypress.
- Understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in frontend performance optimisation and knowledge of Core Web Vitals.
