Overview
The Senior Full Stack Engineer Contractor will play a pivotal role in enhancing the core commerce platform of an online marketplace. This position involves end-to-end engineering responsibilities, working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain high-quality, scalable solutions that improve customer experience and seller performance. Engineers in this role will need to proactively engage with both front-end and back-end technologies to create impactful software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions across UI, APIs, and backend systems.
- Translate product requirements and wireframes into scalable, production-ready systems.
- Own features from concept through development, testing, release, and monitoring.
- Build responsive and high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Design and develop scalable services and APIs within monolith and microservices architecture.
- Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and participate in code reviews.
- Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability with large-scale data systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Strong full stack engineering experience with end-to-end delivery.
- Proven backend expertise in PHP (Laravel).
- Strong JavaScript (ES6+) skills with modern frameworks (React/Vue/Angular).
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and scalable systems.
- Familiarity with MySQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Couchbase, MongoDB).
- Strong understanding of system architecture and microservices.
- Experience with event-driven systems and cloud environments (GCP).
- Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
