Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer Contractor to join our dynamic team dedicated to building innovative eCommerce solutions. In this role, you will work alongside cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications, ensuring high-quality standards and performance optimizations. You will have the opportunity to influence and grow alongside a rapidly scaling business, contributing to impactful retail platforms while working remotely within the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions across UI, APIs, and backend systems.
- Translate product requirements, designs, and wireframes into scalable, production-ready systems.
- Build responsive, high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Develop scalable services and APIs, working across monolithic and microservices architecture.
- Write and maintain automated tests to ensure quality in production.
- Participate in and lead code reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
- Optimise systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, facilitating clear communication of technical concepts.
Requirements
- Proven full stack engineering experience with end-to-end delivery.
- Strong proficiency in PHP (Laravel) for backend development.
- Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+) and modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and scalable systems.
- Familiarity with MySQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Couchbase, MongoDB).
- Strong understanding of system architecture, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency with Docker and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.
- Experience in eCommerce or marketplace platforms is a plus.
