Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will play a crucial role in modernizing IT infrastructure by transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-managed platforms as part of a key transformation program. This position involves analyzing and reconfiguring infrastructure, ensuring a smooth decommissioning of outdated services, and modernizing identity and device management solutions. The contractor will engage with various technical teams to ensure project objectives are met while also delivering hands-on technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and remove application dependencies on legacy on-prem services such as Active Directory and VPNs.
- Support the isolation of Data Centre and Core Server environments.
- Reconfigure endpoints using MDM platforms like Intune.
- Remove or remediate legacy configurations, including GPOs and authentication methods.
- Execute configuration changes using PowerShell and automation tooling.
- Uninstall legacy applications and validate compatibility with target environments.
- Identify and resolve undocumented dependencies prior to service decommissioning.
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to ensure decommissioning readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering infrastructure transformation or migration programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Intune and Azure.
- Experience with Okta, with exposure to OAG preferred.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Background in modern endpoint management and cloud identity integration.
- Ability to work independently in a contract environment.
