Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to oversee and drive multiple IT-related projects within the automotive sector. This hybrid position requires 2-3 days per week on-site, focusing on a classic waterfall delivery methodology while ensuring a seamless end-to-end project delivery cycle. The role involves collaborating closely with project teams and sponsors to maintain strong customer relationships and ensure alignment with business operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage significant IT projects and programmes.
- Create and maintain project plans, including resource estimates and budgets.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and develop a detailed work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Execute and monitor project plans, managing risks and issues as they arise.
- Oversee project expenditure and ensure the business case remains valid throughout the project phases.
- Conduct project closure activities, including lessons learned reviews and benefits delivery assessments.
- Support and mentor less experienced Project Managers within the organization.
- Contribute to the development of project management practices and frameworks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT project management, specifically within an application or technical area.
- Demonstrated ability in programme management and successful project delivery.
- Strong mentoring capabilities to support junior project managers.
- Familiarity with complete project life cycles from initiation to implementation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence stakeholders.
- Awareness of ITIL and its application in project management.
- Analytical and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of business processes relevant to the automotive industry.
