Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer to join our UK&I Technology team, primarily focusing on developing software for the television broadcasting industry. In this hybrid role, the contractor will collaborate with product management and other engineers to drive the development and maintenance of innovative software applications that reach millions of customers globally. The ideal candidate will play a key role in technical decision-making and fostering best practices in software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-based applications using Java.
- Drive the development and maintenance of software applications.
- Collaborate with product management to align engineering activities.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure quality assurance.
- Integrate applications with various database technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in software engineering and architecture.
- Contribute to the development of highly-performant, scalable APIs.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in designing, building, and running cloud-based applications using Java.
- Understanding of container orchestration tools such as Docker Compose, Amazon ECS, or Kubernetes.
- Professional experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proven ability to integrate applications with various database technologies (SQL & NoSQL).
- Experience in developing highly-performant, scalable APIs.
