Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a contract position, focusing on managing and optimizing the corporate network across various sites. This role entails extensive hands-on work with network components such as switching, routing, firewalls, and VPNs, requiring both technical expertise and the ability to remain calm during critical situations. The engineer will be involved in designing secure, multi-site networks and contributing to a dynamic environment alongside other IT professionals.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the corporate network end to end, managing all aspects including switching, routing, and firewalls.
- Implement and maintain VPN solutions and inter-site connectivity.
- Design and secure multi-site networks for high data volumes.
- Make routine changes across Windows/domain and cloud environments.
- Utilize network automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Troubleshoot network issues with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
- Work independently in a fast-paced, low-documentation environment.
Requirements
- Expert-level knowledge in enterprise switching and routing, including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, Junos, Arista or similar).
- Demonstrated experience in designing secured multi-site networks.
- Proficient in network automation and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking across platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, evolving environment.
