Overview
We are looking for an experienced and security cleared Principal Network Engineer to take on a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network architectures within a cutting-edge engineering laboratory environment. This role, which requires on-site presence for four days a week, will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and efficient network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop network architectures to support engineering laboratory environments.
- Configure networked systems in line with technical requirements provided by the Lead Systems Engineer.
- Maintain and enhance laboratory network infrastructure and development environments.
- Support network deployment, testing, and troubleshooting during site trials and demonstrations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing network solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network performance, resilience, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Current SC Clearance is essential.
- Recent experience with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN).
- Strong understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model.
- Good knowledge of IPv4 addressing and subnetting.
- Experience with configuring and managing Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
- Familiarity with network implementation and deployment practices.
- Experience in designing and supporting network architectures.
- Understanding of NETCONF and network automation principles.
