Overview
We are seeking a Senior Node.js Engineer to join a leading eCommerce client's Platform Team. The contractor will play a key role in designing and developing high-volume, scalable ecommerce platforms while collaborating with a team to handle significant traffic and transaction volumes. This is a flexible role, requiring one day per week in the client's Central London office and the remainder remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Utilize AWS services such as SQS, SNS, and Lambda to implement an event-driven architecture.
- Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) practices.
- Collaborate with the platform team on systems that manage high traffic and transaction volumes.
- Contribute to API design and development efforts.
- Engage in microservices development, CI/CD practices, and observability tooling.
Requirements
- Proven senior-level experience in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Hand-on experience with AWS (including SQS, SNS, Lambda).
- Strong background in API design and development.
- Demonstrated proficiency in TDD and DDD methodologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and CI/CD processes.
- Excellent communication skills with experience in pair programming and cross-functional collaboration.
