Overview
The Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer will provide expert geotechnical insights for onshore projects, focusing on developing engineering scopes for ground investigations and analyzing geotechnical data. This role will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, delivering technical guidance and project deliverables while ensuring quality and compliance with client specifications. The successful candidate will play a critical part in addressing complex engineering challenges and contribute to major energy sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist geotechnical inputs to onshore engineering projects.
- Develop engineering scopes for ground investigations and analyze geotechnical data.
- Generate reports and provide guidance on geotechnical interpretations.
- Coordinate with civil and structural engineering teams to meet project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project plans for calculations, reports, and other deliverables.
- Supervise and review geotechnical engineering activities and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and provide geotechnical input.
- Support procurement for geotechnical investigations and site surveys.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Relevant experience in the Oil and Gas sector or Low Carbon Energy Transition industry.
- Chartered status is preferred.
- Proven technical skills in site investigation, foundation design, and ground risk management.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams within an engineering consultancy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Excellent report writing skills and commercial understanding in managing projects.
- Additional capabilities in civil or structural engineering are advantageous.
