Overview

We are looking for a skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee the implementation of GIS (Geographic Information System) projects within the UK utilities sector. This contract role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams and engage with key stakeholders while ensuring project objectives are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, particularly in GIS, and will be required to work in a hybrid capacity, primarily on the South Coast.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of GIS projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support the Business Analyst in gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Support testing, validation, and post-implementation review activities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the project team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager, ideally within the UK utilities sector (water preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience delivering at least one GIS implementation.
  • Familiarity with asset management or asset information systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in hybrid project environments (on-site and remote).
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
