Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of major projects focused on EV charging at high voltages. This remote role involves managing complex, multi-million-pound projects from inception to completion while ensuring quality and adherence to budget and timelines. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and partners, serving as the primary escalation point and guiding junior project managers.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of major projects, delivering on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Own P&L reporting across your project portfolio.
- Act as the escalation point for clients, partners, and internal teams on delivery, finance, and contract matters.
- Define and embed project controls, governance, and change management processes.
- Maintain accurate programmes of work, including milestones, scope, resource forecasting, and financial management.
- Collaborate with the commercial team on lessons learned, feedback, and cost catalogue accuracy.
- Manage cross-programme dependencies and maintain the dependency log.
- Attend site when required to troubleshoot or quality check and mentor junior PM team members.
Requirements
- Experience working for an ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33kV to 132kV).
- Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (Prince2, APM, or PMI).
- Background in electrical utilities or construction.
- Experience working alongside design teams and in tendering processes.
- Competence in MS Project or equivalent project management software.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
- SMSTS qualification is desirable.
