Overview
We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join a sports analytics and trading technology team on a 6-month contract. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with traders, quants, and engineers to develop low-latency, real-time systems that significantly impact business performance. The position focuses on leveraging advanced Python techniques and tools, providing you the opportunity to contribute to high-performance backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop low-latency, event-driven systems using Python.
- Collaborate with traders and engineers to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Utilize web scraping and reverse engineering techniques for system enhancements.
- Implement observability tools to monitor system performance.
- Manage software from design through production deployment.
- Optimize data handling with Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Work within Linux environments to ensure system reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Python development.
- Strong expertise in web scraping and reverse engineering.
- Experience with low-latency system design and implementation.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Experience using observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related numerical field from a top university.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
