Overview
We are looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer to support a significant energy and utilities program that focuses on the modernisation and optimisation of operational technology and smart grid infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance SCADA, ADMS, EMS, and DERMS platforms, providing technical leadership in the integration and implementation of advanced telemetry and control capabilities within electricity distribution and renewable energy operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise-scale SCADA architectures and solutions.
- Lead the integration of SCADA platforms with ADMS, EMS, and DERMS environments.
- Deliver real-time telemetry, monitoring, and control capabilities across operational networks.
- Support initiatives related to Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and Network Management Systems (NMS).
- Define and implement operational technology communications strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to enhance network visibility and resilience.
- Support programmes for smart grid, renewable integration, and grid modernisation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and cyber security requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a SCADA Architect, Lead SCADA Engineer, or Senior SCADA Engineer.
- Strong background in energy, utilities, and electricity transmission or distribution.
- Hands-on experience with ADMS, EMS, or DERMS solutions.
- Strong understanding of Distribution Management Systems (DMS).
- Experience in delivering telemetry and remote monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, and OPC protocols.
- Knowledge of network control centre operations and smart grid technologies.
- Desirable experience in renewable energy integration and OT cyber security programmes.
