Overview
We are looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer to join a transformative energy and utilities programme focused on enhancing operational technology and smart grid infrastructure. The successful candidate will design, integrate, and optimize SCADA systems, working closely with various teams to implement modern solutions for electricity distribution and renewable energy operations. This is a key role with a significant impact on the future of energy management systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support enterprise-scale SCADA architectures and solutions.
- Lead the integration of SCADA platforms with ADMS, EMS, and DERMS environments.
- Deliver real-time telemetry, monitoring, and control capabilities across operational networks.
- Support Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and Network Management Systems (NMS) initiatives.
- Define and implement OT communications strategies, including RTU and substation integrations.
- Collaborate with operational, engineering, and technology teams to improve network visibility and resilience.
- Provide technical leadership across SCADA and OT workstreams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and cyber security requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a SCADA Architect, Lead SCADA Engineer or Senior SCADA Engineer.
- Strong background within energy, utilities, electricity transmission or distribution environments.
- Hands-on experience with ADMS, EMS, and DERMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Distribution Management Systems (DMS).
- Experience delivering telemetry and remote monitoring solutions.
- Knowledge of OT environments and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with industry protocols, including IEC 61850 and DNP3.
- Understanding of network control centre operations and smart grid technologies.
