Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a crucial role in developing a state-of-the-art execution and order management infrastructure for global commodities trading. Working within a dynamic engineering team, the engineer will take charge of designing and delivering a cloud-native trading platform that integrates seamlessly with vital systems like risk, pricing, and market data. This hands-on position emphasizes complete ownership of the development process, ensuring high-performance solutions tailored to the unique demands of trading.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core components of a modern execution and order management platform, including order routing and lifecycle management.
- Implement and maintain FIX protocol integrations across exchanges and liquidity providers in the commodities markets.
- Develop low-latency, distributed execution services prioritizing performance, correctness, and resilience.
- Collaborate closely with traders and quants to translate trading workflows into robust production systems.
- Ensure seamless integration with risk systems for pre-trade checks and post-trade processing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building execution/order management systems in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, distributed systems, and performance under load.
- Production experience with programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Python.
- Ability to deliver production systems with a focus on shipping and user feedback.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with distributed data systems and event-driven architectures, such as Kafka.
- Experience with observability and incident response in live systems.
- Highly desirable background in commodities markets and understanding of the FIX protocol.
