Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team focused on developing a cloud-native execution and order management platform for global commodities trading. In this senior role, the contractor will take on end-to-end ownership of system design and implementation, collaborating closely with traders, quants, and risk engineers to build a robust and high-performance trading environment. This position will encompass working on components such as order routing and lifecycle management while ensuring tight integration with risk and market data systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core components of a modern EMS/OMS platform, including order routing and lifecycle management.
- Implement and maintain FIX protocol and venue-specific integrations across exchanges and liquidity providers.
- Develop low-latency, distributed execution services, ensuring performance and resilience.
- Collaborate with traders and other stakeholders to translate trading workflows into production systems.
- Ensure seamless integration with risk systems, including pre-trade checks and post-trade processing.
Requirements
- Proven experience building production execution and order management systems.
- Strong fundamentals in systems engineering, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- Production experience in C++, Rust, or Python, with a willingness to work in multiple languages.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver production systems with an emphasis on iteration and user feedback.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly Kubernetes-based architectures.
- Familiarity with distributed data systems and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with observability and monitoring in live production systems.
