Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience in the energy trading sector to join a client team for a contract role. The engineer will primarily work with technologies within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and will collaborate closely with team members to leverage data engineering practices. This position requires a strong understanding of Azure infrastructure and a practical approach to developing software solutions. The anticipated duration of the contract is until December 2026 or early Q1 2027, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes two days on-site in central London each week.
Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate data engineering practices.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Bicep.
- Manage networking and security configurations in Azure.
- Maintain and enhance existing software applications.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for pipeline management.
- Perform SQL queries to support data needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably with Bicep.
- Experience with Python programming.
- Understanding of networking and security within Azure.
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines is beneficial.
- Familiarity with SQL for database handling.
