Overview

The Senior Workplace Technology Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the end-user experience within a London office, providing VIP support to around 100 users including senior leadership. This non-traditional desktop support position focuses on building trusted relationships and delivering exceptional client service, while closely collaborating with a Managed Service Provider for technical assistance. The contractor will be dedicated to ensuring every interaction with IT is professional, efficient, and positive, and will involve hands-on technical support and project coordination as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an outstanding user experience by becoming the primary face of IT within the office.
  • Build trusted relationships with users across the business, including Directors and senior stakeholders.
  • Provide white-glove support and hands-on assistance for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and workplace technology.
  • Smoothly manage onboarding and offboarding activities, configuring devices for new starters.
  • Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, meeting room technologies, and collaboration tools.
  • Act as the key liaison between end users and the Managed Service Provider, monitoring incidents to completion.
  • Coordinate IT activities for office relocation and hardware refresh projects.
  • Ensure the lifecycle management of IT hardware and maintain operational shared technology spaces.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Workplace Technology, VIP Support, Desktop Support or End User Support role.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and executive users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in working in a highly visible, customer-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based support environments.
  • Experience with tools such as Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
  • Comfortable with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms, in addition to supporting workplace technology projects.
