Overview
The Server Migration Engineer will play a critical role in a large-scale M&A separation project, focusing on the planning and execution of complex server, cloud, and data centre migrations. Collaborating with cloud, security, and network teams, the engineer will ensure seamless transitions and compliance while minimizing downtime during each migration phase.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute server migrations across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Manage Active Directory separations and organizational unit restructuring.
- Deploy and support Azure management tools, including Azure Arc and Defender for Cloud.
- Enforce security baselines and ensure compliance across all systems.
- Coordinate migration activities, produce documentation, and track progress.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016–2022) and/or Linux administration.
- Solid understanding of Azure IaaS and Active Directory.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of networking, identity, and security fundamentals.
- Proven experience with M&A separations, infrastructure carve-outs, or data centre migrations.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
