Overview
The Service Design Architect will play a pivotal role in a large-scale enterprise technology transformation, focusing on the design and definition of IT services that are scalable, supportable, and secure. This position involves collaborating with architecture, engineering, operations, and delivery teams to establish effective service models that facilitate technology adoption and ensure long-term support across a complex landscape. The contractor is expected to start immediately and will be working in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end IT service architectures for new and existing technology platforms.
- Define service operating models, support structures, and service transition plans.
- Create service design documentation covering support, monitoring, resilience, security, and governance.
- Collaborate with technical architects, engineers, and operational teams to ensure services are supportable in production.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Ensure service designs align with ITIL and enterprise architecture principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Design Architect in complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud, applications, and operational support models.
- Experience designing services for large-scale digital or technology transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of ITIL, service transition, service operations, and service management best practices.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
