Overview
The Software Engineer will play a key role in the Legacy Modernization Project for the public sector's financial platform, mainly focusing on transforming and modernizing a core collections platform. Working in a fully remote capacity, the selected contractor will collaborate with an existing embedded team to manage and innovate across a diverse tech stack, including Objective-J/Cappuccino, .NET/C#, and JavaScript, while contributing to the shift towards a web-based SaaS model.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the core collections platform and support its modernization process.
- Collaborate with the team to manage legacy and modern technology stacks effectively.
- Implement enhancements and ensure maintainability of the existing platform.
- Develop new features across desktop, web, and mobile environments.
- Participate in the transition towards Go-based microservices in alignment with overall engineering strategy.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration within the embedded team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Objective-C/J and familiarity with Cappuccino frameworks.
- Experience in a polyglot environment; knowledge of Go or .NET is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of managing both legacy and modern technology ecosystems.
- Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, change-oriented work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive modernization initiatives without solely maintaining existing systems.
