Overview

In this role as a Solution Architect for Quote-to-Cash and Manufacturing Systems, you will engage in the foundational discovery and design phase of a transformative project for a UK-based manufacturer. Collaborating closely with the client's team, your focus will be on defining the technical architecture, data models, and integration strategies to ensure a successful build phase. This contract position offers the opportunity to shape a new system from the ground up, with a duration of approximately five weeks and the potential for extension based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define the target architecture and technology stack for the system.
  • Design the first-phase data model that is structured and scalable.
  • Define the integration approach across CRM, finance, and manufacturing platforms.
  • Specify non-functional requirements covering security, resilience, and performance.
  • Design and run technical spikes and proofs-of-concept to validate approaches.
  • Author the technical specification for the first build phase and future architecture.
  • Ensure that the foundation allows for future enhancements like AI-assisted design.
  • Collaborate closely with the product manager and manufacturing SME.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in solution and technical architecture for integrated business systems.
  • Strong background in data modeling and integration architecture, particularly with APIs.
  • Familiarity with open-source delivery stacks such as Node.js, Python, React, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience architecting CPQ systems or similar environments.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective proofs-of-concept.
  • Expertise in writing clear, build-ready technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and ERP platforms such as Katana, Odoo, or MRPEasy is desirable.
  • Experience with HubSpot and Xero APIs is advantageous.
