Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the migration of legacy finance systems to Workday Financial Management as part of a major retailer's Finance Transformation Programme. This contract position will involve close collaboration with finance leadership, technology teams, and external vendors to shape the architectural strategy and ensure a seamless transition. The role is pivotal in aligning integration, data flows, and governance to enterprise standards while managing multiple stakeholders throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the solution architecture for the migration to Workday Financials.
- Define as-is, target, and transition architectures across finance, data, integrations, and reporting.
- Design the integration architecture between Workday and surrounding systems.
- Shape the data migration strategy, including mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with Workday functional leads to align configuration and business processes.
- Ensure the solution meets non-functional requirements such as compliance and performance.
- Provide architectural governance across system integrators and internal delivery teams.
- Support cutover planning and testing strategy for go-live readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect on large-scale finance transformation programmes.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, with at least one end-to-end implementation.
- Strong understanding of finance processes including AP/AR, GL, and reporting.
- Experience in migrating from legacy finance or ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
- Deep knowledge of integration patterns including REST and SOAP.
- Extensive experience with data migration and data modelling in finance context.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across business and technology.
