Overview
The Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering cloud-native platforms and enterprise applications within a leading technology consultancy. Collaborating with teams across engineering, data, AI, and product, the contractor will define architecture and guide delivery to ensure scalable, secure solutions in a hybrid work environment. This position focuses on leading complex transformation programmes for both public and private sector organizations.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solution architecture across application, data, integration, infrastructure and security layers.
- Produce High Level Designs, Architecture Decision Records and technical documentation.
- Design cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Define API-first, event-driven and microservices architectures.
- Lead architecture workshops and present designs to technical governance boards.
- Drive best practice across DevOps, CI/CD and engineering standards.
- Support delivery teams through implementation and provide technical leadership.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture communities.
Requirements
- Proven background delivering architecture on large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong experience in consultancy or client-facing environments.
- Ability to operate across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Experience producing architecture artefacts and supporting governance processes.
- Strong understanding of scalable, modern architectures and AI-enabled workflows.
- Technical skills in Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development, and container platforms.
- Desirable Azure certifications and experience with Databricks or AI platforms.
