Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect for a short-term, fully remote engagement focused on conducting a comprehensive architectural review of a recently developed AWS-based financial platform. The selected candidate will work independently to evaluate the platform's design for scalability, resilience, security, and maintainability, ensuring alignment with best practices. This role requires interaction with technical stakeholders to communicate findings and provide pragmatic improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an end-to-end architectural and technical design review.
  • Review the existing AWS infrastructure and serverless architecture.
  • Assess architectural decisions related to AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, APIs, and other cloud services.
  • Evaluate scalability, resilience, performance, security, and maintainability of the system.
  • Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and design gaps.
  • Validate engineering decisions against recognized architecture best practices.
  • Provide clear recommendations and a roadmap for improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to communicate findings and challenge decisions constructively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect with a strong technical background.
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of AWS architecture and infrastructure.
  • Strong experience in designing and reviewing serverless architectures.
  • Deep understanding of AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API-driven systems.
  • Experience conducting architectural and technical design reviews.
  • Ability to assess existing engineering work, not just design new solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of scalability, resilience, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
  • TOGAF certification, BCS Architecture certification, or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials preferred.
