Overview
As a Contract Azure Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic clients and technology initiatives within an award-winning software and technology company. Collaborating closely with product, delivery, engineering, and client stakeholders, you will guide technical decisions, shape solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of both client-specific and product-led projects. This hands-on architecture role balances technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness, primarily working remotely but requiring occasional travel to London or Macclesfield.
Responsibilities
- Act as the architecture lead for strategic clients and programmes.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, including technology, delivery, and business teams.
- Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions, and solution reviews.
- Produce and maintain architecture documentation including solution designs, integration patterns, and decision records.
- Provide technical oversight across application, integration, infrastructure, and data architectures.
- Support Product and Engineering teams in defining solutions that balance client needs with product direction.
- Work with Delivery teams to identify technical risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Support client onboarding, migrations, and large-scale change initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or in a similar senior technology role.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, integration patterns, and cloud technologies.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure and modern application architectures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing architecture artefacts and leading design discussions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities.
- Comfortable working directly with clients and representing the organisation in technical discussions.
