Overview
The Taxonomy Consultant will collaborate with a multi-market retail corporation to lead a comprehensive redesign of its product catalogue. This role focuses on rethinking catalogue structures, aiming to optimize operations while addressing the complexities of multi-country and legacy constraints. The consultant will utilize their expertise to establish a robust foundation for the product catalogue, ensuring it aligns with both current business needs and future growth.
Responsibilities
- Design the structure of the product catalogue, including hierarchies, attributes, and relationships.
- Leverage the existing product hierarchy to inform the new model.
- Target operational pain points in the current catalogue processes.
- Balance innovative design with practical considerations of legacy systems and migration.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Taxonomy Consultant, Information Architect, or Product Data Specialist.
- A strong track record with large-scale commerce or content platforms.
- Deep understanding of catalogue modelling, including hierarchies, attributes, and pricing.
- Experience with PIM and MDM tools such as Stibo Systems, Akeneo, or Salsify is preferred.
- Familiarity with catalogue-driven business support systems and commerce platforms is a plus.
