Overview
We are seeking a Tech Lead Software Engineer with extensive AWS cloud expertise to spearhead the design and implementation of cloud-native solutions for a large-scale digital transformation project. This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, as you guide teams, shape architecture, and drive best practices across cloud and DevOps environments. The ideal candidate will effectively blend technical acumen with leadership skills to influence product directions and ensure delivery excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and development of cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Act as the technical authority, providing direction to delivery teams.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions using modern engineering practices.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery.
- Provide technical insights during business discussions, shaping new products and solutions.
- Collaborate with delivery, production, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure high resiliency and security of products.
- Contribute to the exploration and adoption of new technologies, including AI/ML and automation.
- Negotiate and influence diverse teams to achieve consensus on technical issues.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Experience with serverless architectures and containerization technologies like ECS and EKS.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch or ELK stack.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with government standards such as those established by DWP.
- Demonstrated capability to provide technical insight into broader business discussions and product strategies.
