Overview

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the delivery of a large-scale technology programme with a major public sector organisation. The contractor will collaborate with multiple engineering squads to manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate deliveries, and ensure effective risk and issue management. This role is crucial in translating technical architecture into actionable delivery plans while facilitating agile practices across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technical workstreams across multiple squads within a large programme.
  • Own risk, issue, and dependency management at programme level, escalating appropriately.
  • Translate technical architecture and integration designs into clear delivery plans and actions.
  • Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and hybrid delivery processes across distributed teams.
  • Maintain senior stakeholder communication, reporting, and governance cadence.
  • Manage programme interdependencies and cross-team coordination.
  • Drive delivery using tools including Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Identify and resolve blockers impacting velocity or quality of delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical project management experience.
  • Proven background in software engineering delivery, systems integration, or technology programmes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and hybrid delivery models.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tooling.
  • Demonstrable expertise in risk, issue, and dependency management.
  • Experience managing multiple technical squads or large-scale programmes simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills at senior level.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certifications are preferred.
