Overview
The Technical Project Manager will lead the execution of complex technical projects within the banking sector, ensuring that project objectives are met in alignment with business priorities. This role requires collaboration with various technical teams and stakeholders, both internal and external, to manage project delivery using Agile methodologies. The contractor will be responsible for reporting project statuses and addressing any risks or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex technical projects and workstreams.
- Coordinate activities across multiple technical squads and delivery teams.
- Track project progress using Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure project scope, timelines, and deliverables remain aligned to business objectives.
- Translate technical designs and architecture outputs into actionable delivery plans.
- Provide regular reporting, governance updates, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in technical project management.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and delivery frameworks.
- Experience in banking or financial services is essential.
- Proven experience managing large-scale programmes or multiple technical teams.
- Strong risk, issue, and dependency management capability.
- Ability to influence technical teams without direct authority.
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tooling is required.
- Understanding of architecture, integration, and deployment practices is preferred.
