Overview
The Telecoms Project Engineer will engage in a 6-month contract role, providing immediate technical support and leadership for various telecom projects. Working in a hybrid capacity, this position involves collaboration with Project Managers and different engineering teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery. The successful candidate will deploy their expertise in IP networking within a dynamic technical environment, supporting both operational and customer-facing activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Scope, prepare, plan, implement, and deliver telecoms projects across multiple technologies.
- Support Project Managers and Senior Project Managers with project execution and technical governance.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical representation at customer meetings and act as a trusted point of contact.
- Collaborate with field, project, and network operations teams.
- Assist with critical fault diagnosis and service restoration activities.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network and system environments.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and end-of-job reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering telecoms and network infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and system environments.
- CCNA-level knowledge with a solid understanding of IP networking, including: WAN, LAN, MPLS Routing, and Switching.
- Hands-on experience with Nokia platforms, including: Nokia SAR-H, Nokia NFM-P.
- Experience working with XTran technology.
- Strong understanding of data networking principles and telecoms infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for technical and network diagramming.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland, with occasional overnight stays.
