Overview
The Contract Test Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the testing strategy for a communications provider that supports emergency services, NHS, and major enterprise clients. This hands-on position requires collaboration with both systems and development teams to define and implement an end-to-end testing approach across messaging platforms, with a focus on real business outcomes. The Test Lead will also be responsible for improving testing processes and executing testing efforts directly.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement an end-to-end testing strategy across the messaging platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including Systems and Development Managers, to align testing efforts with business goals.
- Perform API testing including REST and SOAP methodologies.
- Execute UI, functional, and UAT testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Utilize automation tools such as Playwright for regression testing.
- Take ownership of the testing process in a startup-style environment with limited documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the testing function.
- Deliver hands-on execution of testing activities as required.
Requirements
- Experience leading QA and testing efforts in a hands-on capacity.
- Proficient in testing tools and frameworks, especially Playwright.
- Strong background in API testing (REST/SOAP) and UI/Functional testing.
- Familiarity with Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript environments.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations with limited guidance.
- Proven collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment preferred.
- Experience with messaging and orchestration platforms is a plus.
