Overview
The Test Lead will play a crucial role in managing and driving the testing strategy within a significant enterprise transformation program. Working in a fully remote capacity with occasional travel, the contractor will collaborate closely with technical teams, program leadership, and third-party suppliers to ensure thorough and consistent testing across a complex, multi-supplier environment. This senior position demands strong leadership skills and a solid background in both Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the overall Test Strategy for the program.
- Lead test planning, governance, reporting, and quality assurance activities.
- Oversee multiple Test Managers to ensure consistency in delivery.
- Manage test environments, defect management, test data, traceability, and reporting.
- Collaborate with development and integration teams to validate APIs and complex system integrations.
- Represent the testing function in senior program governance meetings.
- Support Agile and Waterfall delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading testing in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
- Strong background in developing and implementing Test Strategies.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of API and integration testing, RESTful services, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, and modern testing methodologies.
- Comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- ISEB/ISTQB certification; Agile Testing certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in UK Government, Defence, or Public Sector programs is highly desirable.
