Overview
We are seeking an experienced UML Modeller to participate in a vital Zero Trust Architecture transformation programme within a secured UK Government/Defence environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with Enterprise and Security Architects to create structured and traceable designs that align with Zero Trust principles. This long-term contract requires active UKSV Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and will involve translating complex systems into detailed architecture artefacts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain UML and SysML models to support secure system architecture design and integration.
- Produce detailed architecture artefacts including component, class, sequence, and activity diagrams.
- Collaborate with solution, network, and security architects to ensure compliance with Zero Trust principles.
- Maintain model integrity and traceability across multiple design layers.
- Support architecture reviews and governance boards by offering modelling best practices and technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with MODAF, TOGAF, or NIST 800-207 frameworks and relevant defence security standards.
- Follow strict configuration, classification, and change control procedures while working securely.
Requirements
- Active UKSV DV clearance is required.
- Proven experience as a UML Modeller, Systems Engineer, or Solution Designer on large-scale or classified programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and security-by-design concepts.
- Proficiency in UML tools such as Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw.
- Solid understanding of systems integration, data flows, and secure infrastructure design.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to produce high-quality technical artefacts.
- Familiarity with MODAF, TOGAF, or NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) is desirable.
- Experience in Defence Digital, MOD, or UK Government secure programmes is a plus.
