Overview
We are looking for an experienced User Experience Designer to join a leading product transformation consultancy on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design intuitive and accessible digital services for a major UK public sector organisation, focusing on improving user outcomes through meaningful, user-centred solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality interaction and UX design solutions across digital services.
- Translate user research insights into clear, effective user journeys and interaction patterns.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artefacts to communicate ideas and solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, researchers, and stakeholders.
- Ensure designs align with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and best practices.
- Contribute to service assessments and continuous improvement of live services.
- Support the development of scalable and reusable design patterns.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Interaction Designer or UX Designer within digital delivery environments.
- Strong experience working to GDS standards on government or public sector projects.
- Ability to design end-to-end user journeys across complex services.
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong prototyping skills (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar).
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience contributing to service transformation or service redesign programmes.
