Overview
We are seeking an experienced User Researcher to assist with the public beta phase of an online education service. This role involves evaluating the current service through two rounds of usability testing, identifying usability issues, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for the team. The contract will be remote and spans 10 days of work over a 20-day period in August.
Responsibilities
- Conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the online education service.
- Identify and document usability issues experienced by users.
- Analyze usability testing results and provide clear, actionable findings.
- Collaborate with the wider team to implement improvements based on research findings.
- Work with performance analysts to correlate usability data with user behavior.
- Communicate research insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Manage timelines and deliverables throughout the testing phase.
Requirements
- Proven experience in beta-phase usability testing.
- Background in public sector or Government Digital Service (GDS) projects.
- Experience collaborating with performance analysts or analyzing usage data.
- Ability to articulate clear and actionable research findings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in usability testing methodologies and frameworks.
