The User Researcher will be responsible for planning and executing user research activities to inform product and service design based on user needs and behaviors. This role involves working autonomously to guide research methods and ensure a user-centered development lifecycle while collaborating with product managers, designers, and developers. The User Researcher will synthesize findings into actionable insights and maintain research accessibility, all while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research across various project phases.
  • Select and apply appropriate research methods, including interviews and usability testing.
  • Recruit and vet research participants, ensuring ethical considerations and representative participation.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear insights for service design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed user research into agile delivery practices.
  • Communicate research plans and findings to stakeholders effectively.
  • Facilitate workshops to build shared understanding of user needs.
  • Contribute to the development of user research standards and tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in user research, preferably within an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience with both generative and evaluative research methods.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for advocating user needs.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and collaborative analysis sessions.
  • Ability to secure and utilize research tools for analysis and synthesis.
  • Experience in recruiting and engaging research participants.
  • Proficient in conducting virtual interviews.
  • Familiarity with DDaT frameworks and principles.
