Overview
We are seeking a Web Developer to support a Public Sector client on an initial three-month contract, focusing on both front-end and back-end development. The contractor will be responsible for creating innovative web solutions, enhancing website functionality and user experience, while collaborating with a technology team. This role requires a balance of in-office and remote work, with one day a week spent in the Liverpool office.
Responsibilities
- Develop front-end and back-end code for web applications.
- Implement plugins and themes to improve website functionality.
- Collaborate with the technology team to identify and resolve website issues.
- Ensure website security and optimize performance for accessibility.
- Test and debug code to maintain quality standards.
- Stay updated on WordPress developments and best practices.
- Document processes and changes made to the website.
- Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in PHP and WordPress development.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and GraphQL.
- Experience using Visual Studio Code as a development tool.
- Strong understanding of web security principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience in optimizing website performance.
