Overview
We are seeking a WordPress Developer to contribute to a public sector project on a 3-month initial contract basis. The successful contractor will primarily work remotely, with periodic visits to the Liverpool office for collaboration with the technology team. This role focuses on enhancing WordPress websites through development, customization, and effective troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites to meet project specifications.
- Implement plugins and themes to improve website functionality.
- Collaborate with the technology team to resolve website issues.
- Ensure website security and optimize performance for speed and accessibility.
- Test and debug code to uphold quality standards.
- Stay informed on WordPress advancements and best practices.
- Document processes and maintain records of changes to websites.
- Provide technical support and advice to stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience with headless WordPress.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a development team.
- Proficiency in PHP and custom theme/plugin development preferred.
- Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro) is an advantage.
- Experience with GraphQL APIs and integrating WordPress with decoupled frontends is desirable.
