Overview
We are seeking a mid-weight Product Designer for a contract role focused on enhancing a well-established UK consumer mobile app. The contractor will collaborate with a product team, taking ownership of specific design projects while contributing to the overall product vision. This role offers the opportunity for autonomy and active participation in the design process, working closely with developers and fellow designers to deliver impactful user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the design process from discovery to handover.
- Understand and define user problems before proposing solutions.
- Plan and execute user research, selecting appropriate testing methods.
- Create user-centered designs that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure practical implementation of designs.
- Break larger initiatives into manageable MVPs with consideration for future iterations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Designer with a portfolio showcasing consumer mobile app projects.
- Familiarity with designing products using component-based systems.
- Strong understanding of product development process and delivery.
- Experience in planning and conducting user testing sessions.
- Proficient in Figma; having a personal license is advantageous.
- Experience with AI tools for UX research, documentation, or insight generation is a plus.
