Overview
As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of an AWS platform tailored for AI applications within a multi-million pound greenfield project. Collaborating with engineering teams, your work will focus on creating a robust cloud infrastructure that facilitates the safe deployment of AI-enabled products. You will leverage your deep expertise in AWS to establish foundational structures and oversee the evolution of the platform, ensuring it meets high standards of automation, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and evolve AWS platform foundations including multi-account architecture and landing zones.
- Drive platform design and engineering standards to simplify and standardize service management.
- Enable automation, reliability, and cost optimization at scale through infrastructure as code.
- Mentor and support engineers while influencing the technical direction of projects.
- Develop AI platform capabilities, integrating Amazon Bedrock and associated tools into a production-grade environment.
- Implement observability, cost controls, and security measures for regulated environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience with deep, hands-on AWS platform engineering.
- Expertise in designing and implementing AWS landing zones and multi-account environments.
- Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform preferred and experience in other tools like CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools, containers, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- Knowledge of cloud security and governance, including identity management and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to design scalable and resilient AWS solutions in complex enterprise settings.
- Experience mentoring engineers and advocating best practices in cloud engineering.
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms on AWS is highly desirable.
