Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead our client's data engineering function and drive the delivery of a modern cloud data platform. In this hybrid role, the contractor will collaborate closely with teams in Data, Analytics, and Architecture while ensuring robust technical standards and continuous improvement across data projects. This position offers a dynamic environment where leadership and technical expertise in Microsoft Azure and data engineering are crucial for success.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers.
- Own delivery of data engineering projects and platform improvements.
- Oversee data pipelines, integrations, testing, and deployment.
- Drive adoption of Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform.
- Ensure platform performance, reliability, and operational support.
- Implement data quality, governance, and monitoring practices.
- Promote Agile, DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
- Manage technical standards, delivery priorities, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Data Engineering and Data Platforms.
- Experience managing or leading Data Engineering teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure data platform.
- Proficient with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks.
- Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
- Experience with ETL/ELT and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience in data platform monitoring, operations, and support.
