Electrical Site Engineer

Overview

The Electrical Site Engineer will play a crucial role in the construction and delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This hands-on, site-based position involves providing technical oversight for electrical installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with project management and subcontractors to address technical issues and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering oversight of electrical installation activities on site.
  • Monitor contractor performance for safety and quality compliance.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Support inspection, testing, commissioning, and energisation activities.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Manager, and subcontractors to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and project specifications.
  • Assist with quality inspections and project handover documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Site Engineer on major infrastructure or power projects.
  • Experience in utility-scale electrical installations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and installation practices.
  • Experience with BESS, substations, and renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • ECS/CSCS card required; SMSTS or SSSTS preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential.
