Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fractional Finance Director (FD) / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic and operational financial leadership for our tech consultancy specialized in AI and data engineering solutions. The role begins with a fixed-price project focused on year-end finalization and financial auditing, with the potential for ongoing consultancy-grade financial strategy and governance based on the outcomes of initial work. The successful candidate will work closely with our executive team to enhance our financial architecture as we scale our operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive the completion and finalization of year-end accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy with external accountants.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing accounts and internal processes to establish a financial baseline audit.
- Identify accounting, tax, or operational vulnerabilities and develop a actionable roadmap for improvements.
- Design and implement robust monthly management reporting packages and rolling cash flow forecasting models (Phase 2).
- Establish tracking mechanisms for project margins and client account profitability to identify key value drivers (Phase 2).
- Build annual budgeting frameworks aligned with sales forecasting and resource plans (Phase 2).
- Advise the leadership team on strategic financial decisions and pricing models as part of ongoing support (Phase 2).
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in consulting or professional services environments, with an understanding of consultancy economics.
- Proven track record of transitioning founder-led businesses to scalable finance operations.
- Experience working successfully in a fractional or interim FD/CFO role with a focus on structured outcomes.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant experience at FD or CFO level.
- Comfortable with hands-on tasks such as auditing as well as strategic advisory at board level.
