Overview
The Interim Head of Technology will lead a targeted improvement initiative across the technology functions within the organization. The contractor will collaborate closely with senior leaders from the Development, Infrastructure, Data, and Quality Assurance teams to enhance operational efficiencies, strengthen governance frameworks, and ensure coherent management of technology changes. This role is critical in maturing the data department and improving the overall reliability and performance of technology services while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Mature the data function by assessing current capabilities and establishing clear operating models.
- Review and enhance infrastructure services to improve resilience and operational processes.
- Take ownership of technology change control and implement a consistent change management framework.
- Provide leadership across technology functions, ensuring clear expectations and delivery priorities.
- Develop a prioritized improvement roadmap addressing immediate and long-term infrastructure needs.
- Improve collaboration and resolve dependencies among senior management in technology roles.
- Ensure documentation of improvements and support a clear handover at the conclusion of the contract.
- Report on progress, risks, decisions, and delivery outcomes to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head of Technology or senior IT leader in managing multiple technical functions.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering improvements in interim or contract roles.
- Experience in maturing data functions, specifically in governance and data quality.
- Strong background in enhancing infrastructure operations and service reliability.
- Proven ability to implement effective change management across complex technology environments.
- Experience leading senior managers across various technology teams.
- Broad understanding of enterprise systems, infrastructure, and software delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to clearly communicate technical risks and priorities.
