Health Safety Environment Advisor

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety Environment (EHS) Advisor to join a significant high-voltage (HV) infrastructure project focused on the construction of a new substation and associated utility cable installations. The EHS Advisor will collaborate with project teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle. This is a long-term contract opportunity with potential extensions based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support and guidance across the project.
  • Monitor and promote high standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
  • Review RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Support safe delivery of HV substation, utility and cable installation works.
  • Monitor contractor and supply chain compliance.
  • Provide practical guidance to site teams and contractors.
  • Support safety meetings, briefings and toolbox talks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an EHS/HSE Advisor within HV, utilities, energy, data centre or major infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within HV environments.
  • Graduate IOSH (GradIOSH) accreditation is essential.
  • NEBOSH qualification is required.
  • Experience working around 132kV substations or similar HV infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of utility and cable installation activities.
  • Experience with cable pulling, jointing or deep excavation works is beneficial.
  • HSG47 and Street Works certification is highly advantageous.
